College Audition Bootcamp
July 17-20th, 2025
Scott Studios is thrilled to offer its first four-day intensive geared toward the world of college auditions. Get ready for College Audition Bootcamp. Just as my generation was thrown into SAT and PSAT prep classes designed toward acing the big exams in order to secure a space at a top college - young performers hoping to attend one of the handful of top arts programs must seek out equally excellent programs to get the competitive edge necessary to succeed. The only difference? A top-tier Musical Theatre program can be 5 times harder to get into than Harvard! For example, the University of Michigan which boasts famous alum like Ashley Park, Pasek & Paul, and Darren Criss only excepts about 1% of their yearly applicants. And while these odds are quite slim, I can attest that those who beat the odds are those who seek out opportunities to learn how to craft an audition that is both personal and professional. Come work with some of the best educators from top-tier programs like NYU, Pace, Carnegie Mellon, The Manhattan School of music and more!

“I always knew I loved theatre and wanted to pursue it professionally. But when I thought about everything surrounding the college audition process, I felt so lost. I first met Matthew when I was a Junior in High School. In our first meeting, Matthew took time to get to know ME. He saw my passion for theatre and made every part of our coaching tailored to my goals. He helped me pick out audition material, edited my essays, walked me through the application portals, and coached me on my audition and interview skills. Even though we regularly met over zoom, he was even present during the filming of prescreens too! Most importantly, Matthew took extra care to help my family feel supported in this process, allowing me to focus on the work. With his help, I was accepted into my top choice school - UNCSA’s BFA Acting Program. Even as college Senior, Matthew is always there for me to ask questions - keeping the door open for when I need him.”
